About Dr. Cayoun
The residential retreat will be conducted by Dr. Bruno Cayoun, clinical psychologist, researcher and author who has practised mindfulness meditation in the Burmese tradition of Ledi Sayadaw, U Ba Khin and S. N. Goenka since 1989. Recognised for his warm and engaging approach, he has provided in-depth learning experiences through his popular retreats, workshops and courses worldwide. Dr Cayoun has been involved in mindfulness research in Australia and abroad for the past 19 years. He is the principal developer of a therapy approach known as Mindfulness-integrated Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (MiCBT) and has published three books on the topic through Wiley-Blackwell.
The retreat fee includes accommodation and delicious, wholesome vegetarian food made with gourmet Tasmanian produce. Vegan and special dietary catering options are available.There are two categories of room types: Superior and Deluxe. Each is uniquely decorated with an eclectic collection of original art and antique furniture, marble or stone bathrooms with heated floors and heating units or fireplaces. Deluxe rooms feature spa baths.

The retreat will take place at the historic Quamby Estate, situated in Northern Tasmania’s Meander Valley. Surrounded by picturesque countryside, the estate is just twenty minutes from the Launceston Airport. Quamby Homestead was the ancestral home of Tasmania’s first-born Premier, Sir Richard Dry and has been lovingly restored offering extensive entertaining areas, a dining room, lounge rooms, a library. Its charming Anglo-Indian designed architecture and period antiques and fireplaces combine modern luxuries to offer a cosy and quiet country getaway – a weekend stay here is a treat in itself!
